The SolisCloud app is designed to help users monitor and manage their Solis solar power system easily. Once downloaded (available on both Apple and Android devices) and an account is created, it is vital that the solar inverter is connected to the internet so the app can receive data. Once logged in, the page you will land on is the dashboard which is the mains screen of the app as if showcases important information about the user’s solar system.
Home Page
Current Power Generation is the top left yellow icon in the diagram. This displays the amount of electricity the solar panels are producing at that moment. The number will fluctuate based on sunlight levels and weather conditions.
Battery Storage Status is the green icon at the bottom left of the diagram and displays the current charge level (%), whether the battery is charging, discharging or idle, and the estimated remaining storage capacity.
Power Consumption Data is the bottom right orange icon on the diagram. If the system includes a smart meter, the app will display how much electricity the home is using in real-time.
Import/Export monitoring is the blue icon in the top right of the diagram. This icon allows the user to track what they are purchasing or selling from the grid.
Total Energy Generation is the option for the user to track how much electricity have been generated over the whole time, including daily, monthly, and total system lifetime energy output.
Environmental impact provides insights into CO2 emissions reduction and equivalent trees planted, helping users understand their contributing to sustainability.
Real Time Monitoring section of the app allows users to track their solar energy systems activity in real time. This section displays a graphical representation of energy production and consumption. It also allows users to check system efficiency by comparing solar generation vs. household energy demand. Battery charge and discharge status can be available if applicable. This section on the app is useful because:
- It helps identify any performance issues (e.g., lower than expected solar output)
- Allows homeowners to adjust energy usage based on production levels.
- Enables businesses to track peak energy production hours and optimize consumption.
If your notice a drop in solar generation, check if its due to weather/shaded areas, dirty or obstructed solar panels, or system faults and invertor errors.
Historical Data provides insights into how our system has performed over time. This can be accessed in the “History”/ “Reports” tab and clicking a specific time (daily, weekly, monthly, or yearly). Using this section, user can identify trends and seasonal patterns.
Device Management is the section on the app that can allows users to see the status overview of the inverter and whether its online, offline or experiencing issues. This is also where users will find updates needed to the inverter software. If the system detects a problem, users will receive a detailed error message along with troubleshooting steps.
Adding and Managing Users is available to do in the settings of the SolisCloud app. Multiple users can be added with different permission levels. This feature allows users to remotely monitor systems without needing to visit the site, making maintenance and troubleshooting more conveniently.
How to Set Battery Charging:
- Load the SolisCloud app and log in
- Go to “Device” > “Inverter”
- Control Inverster
- Go to “Work Mode Settings” to set desired work mode (Self-Use & Time of Use Mode)
- Set “charge + discharge” and select start and end time
- Click save
Troubleshooting
App Login Issues:
- Check internet connection.
- Reset the password using the “Forgot Password” option.
- Check the SolisCloud Server Status as it may be down.
- Close app and reopen
Device Not Connecting to the App:
- Check the Wi-Fi connection and ensure the power station is connected to the same network.
- Reconnect Wi-Fi by finding the device on the app and follow the instructions to reconnect.
Updated Firmware and Software
- Ensure the inverter’s firmware is up-to-date, as outdated firmware can lead to compatibility issues
- Verify that you are using the latest version of the SolisCloud app. Updates often address known issues and improve functionality. App updates can be found on the mobile app store or the App will notify you when it is due.
