Navigating the LuxpowerTek App

The LuxPowerTek app allows you to monitor and manage your LuxPower solar panel and battery system remotely.

With real-time data, optimization features, and customizable settings, the app helps maximize energy efficiency and extend battery life.

Once the app is downloaded (on both Apple and Android devices) sign up and enable Bluetooth & Wi-Fi. Connect the app to your the LuxPower device and access the real – time data and controls.

The dashboard below is the first screen the user will see when opening the app, this home screen gives the user a complete overview of the solar systems health and performance. The icons on the home page displays both information of usage/production that day and in the time the solar system has been in production.

Home Screen

Solar Yielding displays how much real-time electricity has been produced that current day.

Battery Discharging displays the charge percentage, charging/discharging status and energy flow.

Feed-in Energy monitors how much power you are drawing from the grid.

Consumption tracks how much electricity the home is using.

Energy Flow Diagram is at the bottom and is visual representation of the energy movement between solar, battery, grid and home

Analytics & Reports

The key metrics are available under or “reports” and “data”, this provides the user to view Daily, Weekly, Monthly, and Yearly reports. The data allows the user to view power generation, consumption and savings over different time frames. The app also allows the user to check how efficiently the battery stores and releases energy on the Battery Charge/Discharge option.  By tapping the calendar icon, the user can select the date range they want to view for analysis to identify trends and adjust settings accordingly.

How to Set Battery Charging:

  1. Open the LuxPowerTek App and log in
  2. On Device list, select the Inverter
  3. Look for the ‘Charge/Discharge Settings’, adjust both the maximum charging rate for your battery and the maximum discharge power to control how much power the battery can supply
  4. Set limits by adjusting the parameters on ‘Battery Charge Limit’ and ‘Battery Discharge Limit’
  5. Save the settings.

To adjust working mode settings, navigate “Settings” > “Working Mode” and adjust these tools based on the system needs:

  • Self-consumption mode – Uses solar energy first, charges the battery next and only draws from the grid when necessary.
  • Time-of-Use Mode – Optimises charging/discharging based on electricity rates (Useful for areas with peak pricing)
  • Backup Mode– Ensures the battery stays charged for power outages.
  • Forced Charge/Discharge Mode – Manually set charging and discharging times.

Enabling Time-Based Charging (Time-of-Use Mode):

  1. Go to Settings > Working Mode
  2. Select Time-of-Use Mode
  3. Set charging times for low electricity cost periods
  4. Set discharging times for peak hours (to save energy costs)
  5. Save the settings.

Notifications & Key Features

To stay informed about system performance, potential issues, and updates, the alerts the user may receive are:

  • Low Battery Warning – this will notify when battery levels drop below a set threshold.
  • Grid Failure Alert – Informs user of power outages or disconnections.
  • Inverter Faults – provides details about any inverter malfunctions.

The key features to control and monitor the system from anywhere with real-time access can be accessed through the following features:

  • On “Settings” > “Communication”, the inverter can be turned ON/OFF remotely, manually switch between working modes and check the performance via the web portal (on desktop)
  • On “Settings” > “Grid Settings”, the grid-tier systems can manage how much solar energy is to the grid by settings restrictions on the Export Limit Settings and track the energy sold back to the grid (potential earnings) on the Net Metering Data.
  • On “Settings” > “User Management”, multiple users can be granted access to the system under assigned roles such as ‘Owner’, ‘Viewer’ and ‘Installer’.
  • On “Settings” > “System Updates”, User can check the Firmware Updates, run Self-Diagnosis health checks and contact technical support directly from the app.

Troubleshooting

App Login Issues:

  • Check internet connection
  • Reset password using the “Forgot Password” option
  • Check LuxPower Server Status as it may be down
  • Reinstall the App

Device Not Connecting to the App:

  • Check the Wi-Fi dongle is properly plugged into the inverter
  • Restart the Inverter by turning it OFF for 1 minute, and then back on
  • Reconnect the Wi-Fi in the App by going to Settings > Communication settings, select your inverter and re-renter Wi-Fi credentials.
  • Use Mobile Data on the phone if Wi-Fi is being unstable.
  • Check the Serial Number (SN) and see if it is the same as the SN on the inverter.

No Solar Power Production:

  • Check solar panel connections by inspecting if cables from the panels to the inverter are secure.
  • Ensure that the DC isolator switch is turned ON
  • Go to “Notifications” or “Fault Log” in the app and check for warnings.
  • Restart inverter by powering down and turning it back on
  • Check if the panels are shaded, as this can reduce power production.

Battery Not Charging/Discharging:

  • Go to Settings > Working Mode and ensure that ‘Self – Consumption Mode’ or ‘Time-of-Use Mode’ is selected.
  • Inspect the Battery-to-Inverter wiring for loose connections
  • Restart the battering by powering it OFF for a few minutes and then ON
  • Go to Settings > Battery Settings and check if the battery ‘low voltage cutoff’ is too high.

Grid Power Not Detected

  • Verify Grid Connection to see the main breaker supplying the inverter is ON
  • Check the Export Limit Settings, if the export limits are set to low, the inverter may stop drawing from the grid.
  • Restart the system by powering down the inverter and turning it back on.
