Navigating the EcoFlow App

The Ecoflow app allows you to monitor and manage your EcoFlow solar panel and battery system remotely. With real-time data, optimization features, and customizable settings, the app helps maximize energy efficiency and extend battery life. Once the app is downloaded (on both Apple and Android devices) sign up and enable Bluetooth & Wi-Fi. Connect the app to your new EcoFlow device and access the real – time data and controls.

ecoflow powerocean app

The Main Dashboard of the EcoFlow app gives you a comprehensive overview of you energy system.

Battery Percentage & Status: View remaining charge and power input/output in real time.

Solar Input: See real-time solar power generation to help optimise energy capture.

Energy Consumption: Monitor energy use from connected devices to ensure efficiency.

Estimated Run Time: Check how long your battery can last based on current usage and plan future usage accordingly.

Impact:  The benefits of switching to solar on the environment e.g. Trees planted, and CO2 emissions offset.

To keep battery running efficiently, navigate to Battery Settings, where you can monitor charge cycles, temperature, and overall efficiency.

Use the Solar Input section in the app to track how much energy your panels are generating.

  • Track Solar Input: Ensure your panels are positioned for optimal sunlight exposure.
  • Schedule Charging: Set charging times to store energy during peak sunlight hours.
  • Distribute Load: Use power-intensive appliances when solar input is at its highest.
  • Set Charging Limits: Adjust charge limits to extend battery life.
  • Monitor Battery Health: Go to Battery Settingsfor charge cycles, temperature, and efficiency data.

How to Set Battery Charging:

  1. Open EcoFlow app and tap on the chosen device
  2. Go to “Battery Settings”
  3. Look for “Charge Limit” and “Discharge Limit”
  4. Adjust to the desired values

How to Schedule Charging (Time-of-Use Mode):

  1. Open the EcoFlow app
  2. Go to “Settings” > “Working Mode”
  3. Select “Time-of-Use Mode”
  4. Set start and stop times for charging
  5. Save settings.

The EcoFlow app also allows user to have smart control and automation to make managing your energy system easier.

  • Enable Eco Mode: Automatically reduces power output when demand is low, helping conserve energy.
  • Customizable Alerts: Get notifications for low battery, system errors, or power fluctuations, ensuring you’re always informed.
  • Remote Control: Turn devices on/off remotely through the app, giving you full control even when you’re away.

Troubleshooting

App Login Issues:

  • Check internet connection
  • Reset password using the “Forgot Password” option
  • Check EcoFlow Server Status as it may be down
  • Reinstall the App

Device Not Connecting to the App:

  • Ensure the Bluetooth is on (if using it) and stay within range of 5m
  • Check the Wi-Fi connection and ensure the power station is connected to the same network.
  • Reconnect the Wi-Fi in the App by going to Device List > Add Device and follow instructions to reconnect

No Solar Power Production:

  • Check solar panel connections by inspecting if cables from the panels to the inverter are secure.
  • Verify the input Voltage & Current and ensure the panel’s specs match the power stations requirements
  • Restart inverter by powering down and turning it back ON
  • Check if the panels are shaded, as this can reduce power production.

Battery Not Charging/Discharging:

  • Go to Settings > Working Mode and ensure the correct mode is selected
  • Inspect the Battery-to-Inverter wiring for loose connections
  • Restart the battery by powering it OFF for a few minutes and then ON
  • Go to Settings > Battery Settings and check if the battery ‘low voltage cutoff’ is too high.

Grid Power Not Detected:

  • Check the AC input cable and ensure the charging cable is properly plugged in
  • Try a different outlet as the socket may not be supplying power
  • Restart the power station by unplugging and restarting.

Firmware Update fails or gets stuck:

  • On “Settings” > “System Updates”, User can check the Firmware Updates, run Self-Diagnosis health checks and contact technical support directly from the app.
  • Use a stable internet connection during the update and avoid Wi-Fi interruptions
  • Restart both the App & Power Station
  • If the automatic update fails, check EcoFlows website for manual installation guides.

Battery Draining Quickly

If your battery drains faster than expected, check if high-power appliances are drawing too much energy. Lower the battery discharge rate in the settings and ensure the firmware is up to date, as updates can bring efficiency improvements.
